Testing Tab

This tab is available as long as only one instance or plan is open, it is hidden when in multiple instance mode.

Applications: In order for an application to be tested, the application parameters must be defined. This not only includes the relevant Option Set but also other user preferences that control how results will be displayed. Permissions are controlled in the Global area of Qualify Administration.

Checking Rules: When a script is played back, there are several quality checks that can be enforced. These include content checking (has the application changed since it was recorded?), spell checking, link checking and performance checking. Which of these should be used and how they should be used is controlled by checking rules which can be created here and then assigned to a Playlist. Permissions are controlled in the Global area of Qualify Administration.

Option Sets: The Options control the settings that affect the recording of events such as screens and input. It is very likely that different settings will be required by different types of application and these can be maintained here. Due to the fact that Options can radically affect the way that scripts are recorded, the act of changing them is password protected. Permissions are controlled in the Global area of Qualify Administration.

Playlist Editor: Launch the automated testing solution from where new scripts can be recorded and existing ones maintained and executed. This option is only available from the Desktop version and if a valid license exists. Please refer to the specific User Guide for more information.

QA Manual Tests: Launch the manual testing solution TestDrive as long as a connection to an instance or plan has been made. Please refer to the specific User Guide for more information.

Worklist Drone: Launch the communication screen which enables this PC to be used as a Drone for a Worklist playback, see specific Worklist User Guide for more information.

TestDrive-UAT: Launch the manual testing solution TestDrive-UAT as long as a connection to an instance or plan has been made. Please refer to the specific User Guide for more information. This option is available when at least one UAT plugin has been created in the Admin area as described in the Administration help file.
